Frequently asked questions
Grief yoga uses intentional movement, breath, and sound to release pain and suffering to reconnect back to love. This movement practice doesn’t deny the pain and the struggle that happens in our loss of loved ones but creates space to channel and process that strong emotionality.
This series will be offered online. You can attend all five sessions or do individual classes. I will provide recordings of me leading the session if you miss. These are available for two weeks.
Fill out this form and I will send a link out 24 hours before class.
The moon shines because it’s reflecting the light of the sun. Amongst the dark night the moon is a reminder of brightness. When we are in grief it can be difficult to see the beauty that still exists around us.
Grief- like the moon moves through phases, sometimes we are more at peace with our loss, and sometimes it dominates our every move. Moonflow yoga addresses your needs no matter what phase of grief you are in when you walk in the door.
In grief yoga we use movement, sound, meditation and breathing techniques to specifically target the release of strong emotions.
This practice is more about emotional resiliency then completing challenging postures. Postures can be completed on a yoga mat or a chair.
Life can be hard. Our life’s journey can often take us into places of trauma and pain. We cope the best way we know how in any given moment. Often this leads to suppression of emotions. Grief yoga/ movement allows a safe space to release these more challenging emotions in order to assist with our individual healing process.
Yoga is about honoring the body, no matter how unique it is. You will never be asked to do something that causes pain. There are several ways to modify each movement to meet your needs. Many moves can be done in a chair just as easily as on your mat.

Peer-to-peer support is when someone (me) has experienced something similar to what you have experienced and by having gone through it, I am able to understand better and offer support and guidance. I will meet you where you are, listen and support and witness your grief.
